England and Italy in the same pool...the US should be in the top 2 of their group.

I think Chile will get out of Group B, the question is, who will be the victim, Spain or Holland?

Geez, who have the Swiss been paying off?

Their qualifying group was ridiculous, and their WC group is just as ridiculous.

Three words: Joseph “Sepp” Blatter

I love Suarez as a player, he’s really fantastic, but what a head case that guy is. I would laugh my backside off if he got sent off and then they lost.

I can easily see us going 0-3 as well, although I don’t think that’s likely. Also, I don’t think it’s the worst group to be in either. I don’t want to be in an easy group, get to the round of 16 and be embarrassed.

Did you see what he did the other day against Norwich? Maybe the greatest single game performance I’ve ever seen: Four goals, each one was brilliant.

No matter what group you’re in, you have to produce. If we had to have one of the “Big Boys” in our group, I may have very well taken Germany, because we seem to match up well with them. Certainly Klinsi will come up with a good game plan for them. Their system hasn’t changed all that much since he played and coached for them.

Not if it means we don’t have to hear about soccer for another 4 years all the more quickly.

Yes, Mexico will have their hands full. The question is, will they turn things over the next six months? Sure they manhandled the Kiwis to get in but if they show up performing like the did over the past year qualifying, they’ll be flying back to Mexico quickly.

Mexico is not short of talent....What they lack is a coach who knows how to put it together.

B Spain Holland
C Colombia Japan
D England Italy
E Switzerland France
F Argentina Nigeria
G Germany USA
H Belgium Russia

USA group has the toughest travel plan in Brazil

Portugal is a one man team, so I’m sure we’ll be watching very carefully Ronaldo’s health as the season goes on.

We can shut one man down. Ronaldo gets frustrated and starts cursing the sky.

Klinsi will certainly give us a chance against the Germans because of his familiarity. I think we could possibly get at least a tie against them.

No way we will get a tie or win against the German A team. The skill level disparity is too great.

I attended the US-Germany game, which the US won. This was Germany’s C team. The Germans will be one of the favorites in Brazil. I don’t see them being any worse than in the semis.

I’m just going back to the 2002 Quarterfinals when we went toe-to-toe with them. Took a great save from Oliver Kahn for the Germans to win that one.

The Germans wound up as runners-up in 2002. They always are in the hunt for the World Cup. They have a fantastic stable of good young players and a some very good experienced veterans. I don’t see the US being competitive with Germany in Brazil.

Suarez's first goal.

As pretty as that was, this goal was even more impressive, because he did the little flick of the ball to get around the defender.

And that, my friend, is why we watch the beautiful game! By the way, I think that in a way Suarez is currently overshadowed, if you will, by the few international superstars everyone talks about.
