battlestar galactica rated worst series ending EVER.
(ps not everyone likes or liked serenity)
oops meant to say firefly.
Good luck. It didn’t last very long, like a lot of the shows on the original list.
actress was the first officers
actor was the vulcan ambassador.
Firefly - Nothing to say here. We were robbed. I am about to make sacrilegious comments - the universe of this show was BETTER than Star Trek’s. The writing for the characters make Star Trek’s look like cardboard cut-outs. The franchise potential was BETTER than Star Trek’s.
Jericho - Possibly ahead of it’s time, people weren’t able to pick up on the story.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Never mind the plot (pretty good), I could watch Summer Glau just WALK for an hour. Seriously. Like a flamingo, but better.
Threshold - Really wild ideas, very good actors, it was never given a chance.
Mal: Now, this is all the money Niska gave us in advance. You bring it back to him. Tell him the job didn’t work out. We’re not thieves. But we are thieves. Point is, we’re not takin’ what’s his. Now we’ll stay out of his way as best we can from here on in. You explain that’s best for everyone, okay?
Crow: Keep the money. Use it to buy a funeral. It doesn’t matter where you go or how far you fly. I will hunt you down, and the last thing you see will be my blade.
Mal: Darn.
*poot*
*shred*
Mal: Now, this is all the money Niska gave us in advance...
Bad Guy #2: Oh, I get it! I’m good. Best thing for everyone. I’m right there with ya.
And yeah, I still think I have a “Niska/Crow for President” bumpersticker lyin’ ‘round some place...
“wierd science, gender-bending madness, hybrid monstrocities”
Read Genesis chapter 6...it’s all coming around the corner again!
the screenwriter strike killed most tv.
that is why we ended up with all these poopy reality and cooking shows.
They forgot the original “Battlestar Galactica” -— not to be confused with the atrocious “Galactica 1980”
When I saw it I knew the rest of the series would be exceptional in the writing department and it was every time!
Similar indeed.
I have just blotted the last half-season of Lost out of my memory and invented my own ending that is much more satisfying :)
Flash Forward was pretty good, though. I saw it on DVD and was getting really into it when they canceled it.
Jericho's cancellation was one that really hurt. Cable should have picked it up. You can think of a lot of today's post-apocalyptic TV -- Walking Dead, Falling Skies -- as sequels.
Dark Skies should also be on the list. It wasn't just a sci-fi show. It was also a pretty good [alternative] history show. There were limits to how far the series could actually go, I guess.
Harsh Realm, a show about virtual reality, should also have gotten a better shot at success.
Battlestar Galactica was around long after the writers had no clue of where to go with the story.
Good riddance to that stinker.
Politics.
The new V series was absolutely butchered and re-edited in its first season(long gaps filled with commercials in many of thes episodes) because the so called peace themes of the invading Aliens matched Obama’s political speeches too closely when it hit in 2008.
Firely’s small government conservatism and libertarian themes made a lot of NY based Fox network metrosexuals uncomfortable.
Jericho: a prepper’s SHTF scenario. Obama and libs hate themes where folks have to learn to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and pull their own weight....unless the collectivist meme undergirds the series.
Terminator: Tired out idea, though I agree the series was fairly well done.
Threshold might have made a very good limited series with a stunning 2 hour movie finale!
Anyone else remember Lexx?
Lexx? Saw the entire series on Netflix. Strange, but fairly enjoyable.
Jericho - Possibly ahead of its time, people werent able to pick up on the story."
you are dead on right about Firefly.
My problem with Jericho is they just could not get the basics right.
Stuff that just screamed at you from the screen that was so wrong.
Months without electricity and gas and water but the streets are spotless no garbage accumulation (where did it all go) and everyone looks like they just stepped out of the shower.
Battle scenes where the Jericho troops are commanded by a guy who was in the special forces and he has them behind parked cars shooting over the roofs and their midsections are supposedly protected by nothing more than the windows and none of them get shot.
That same commander leading a counter attack and he gets in front of a friendly tank instead of using it to screen his movements and gets shot.
And that is just the highlights. the other problem is they would have a really good episode and then next week you were watching and saying to yourself. "Who wrote this shit?"
BTW "Revolution" suffers from the same crap. (I Don't know if it is still on) Just an unbelievable look to the series where people without modern conveniences look like they just stepped out of the hair salon.
Its one of the reasons I love The Walking Dead. Everyone looks like they are living in a broken world where the system has totally collapsed. Dirty grimy and uncomfortable!
As an aside, if any series are destined to be cancelled, at least the producers should be forced to have an obvious conclusion rather than just leaving its fans wondering WTF........
I enjoyed it. It got worse after going over the to “dark universe” but it was still good.
