On the heels of playoff hope being snuffed out Sunday against the New York Giants a full month before the season officially concludes, lets first operate on one clear premise: This season was on very unstable ground before it began. All attempts to obfuscate or minimize the tensions between the divergent camps of the coach and the quarterback, in hindsight, were either damage control or outright denial.
Its why Mike Shanahan raised eyebrows when, asked repeatedly why Alfred Morris didnt carry the ball more in the loss to New York, said there were option-pitch plays for Morris but that Robert Griffin III decided to keep the ball and run himself in those instances

I don’t have time to read the article, but I wonder if “Redskins” appears in it.
looks like it is a tossup between dead skins and fore skins
Ctrl-F says no, the compliant metrosexual sports journalist omitted any mention of the team he covers. Good little slave.
I saw part of the game. Redskin receivers weren’t doing their part. I only saw one badly thrown pass. It sailed over the receiver. Other passes ranged from easy catches to catchable, even when thrown on the run.
Bwahahahaha! WaPo undermines its own slave writer....
Griffin wanted to play hurt and Shanahan let him play.
Then it was obvious early on this year that someone tinkered with Griffin’s playing style. He sucked early on and has become barely tolerable since. Regardless of “why”, he should have been benched early on this year till he was completely recovered and Cousins should have been in there.
They gotta let the kid play to his strengths or he’ll never be the same as he was in his rookie season.
They write story after story about people being offended by the Redskin's name. They write story after ignorant story about controversies that reporters make up. I can remember the stupid stories saying what a great idea it was to sign Haynesworth and McNabb. There were endless preseason stories about how Redskin teams that would eventually finish 4-12 or 5-11 were going to go to the Superbowl.
Last year when the Redskins started to win there were adoring stories about how great RGIII was. He played well but he also made mistakes. He was good but not perfect like reporters said.
This year there is story after story blaming Shanahan because RGIII isn't playing perfectly. There are stories about it being Shanahan’s fault the Redskins lost last year's playoff game. They say it was Shanahan’s fault RGIII stayed in the game when he repeatedly said he was healthy enough to play and demanded to stay in the game.
The Washington Post should just stop writing about sports. They should return to writing endless stupid articles about the Redskins name and stories about how Obama is the greatest president ever.
It’s in the picture caption too. I’m sure he loves that.
I consider idiot chris to be the press!
Even after the blown down, Griffin threw two perfectly catchable passes that would have been first downs. They just dropped them.
Not so!
The first pass, on what was third and one (Redskins were told this was first and ten), was accurately thrown, but dropped by tight end Fred Davis. The Redskins are now informed it is fourth and one and not second and ten.
Faced with a fourth and one, RGIII's next pass WAS CAUGHT by wide receiver Pierre Garcon for a gain of six yards and an apparent first down. Garcon allowed the ball to be stripped from his possession before being downed by Giant defensive back, Will Hill. Game over.
Statistically, the last pass by RGIII on fourth down is listed as a completion with a gain of six yards. For Pierre Garcon, the pass is listed as a reception with a gain of six yards. The subsequent stripping of the ball is listed as a fumble by Pierre Garcon and Will Hill is credited with a fumble recovery and a return of eight yards.
Ultimately, you are right. The Redskin receivers failed RGIII at the end of the game.
I apologize to anyone that may have been offended by my use of the word Redskin in this post. /s
The Washington Neolithic Hunter-Gatherers
In the end, it came down to this: Mike Shanahan doesn’t know how to coach the team to take full advantage of Robert Griffin III’s skill set as a quarterback. I wouldn’t be surprised Shanahan is fired at the end of this season.
Or the Washington LGBTQs
I find the name “Washington Redskins” most offensive. I think they should be called “Landover Redskins.”
The Federal Deficits would be a good name.
