I don’t have time to read the article, but I wonder if “Redskins” appears in it.
I saw part of the game. Redskin receivers weren’t doing their part. I only saw one badly thrown pass. It sailed over the receiver. Other passes ranged from easy catches to catchable, even when thrown on the run.
Griffin wanted to play hurt and Shanahan let him play.
Then it was obvious early on this year that someone tinkered with Griffin’s playing style. He sucked early on and has become barely tolerable since. Regardless of “why”, he should have been benched early on this year till he was completely recovered and Cousins should have been in there.
They gotta let the kid play to his strengths or he’ll never be the same as he was in his rookie season.
They write story after story about people being offended by the Redskin's name. They write story after ignorant story about controversies that reporters make up. I can remember the stupid stories saying what a great idea it was to sign Haynesworth and McNabb. There were endless preseason stories about how Redskin teams that would eventually finish 4-12 or 5-11 were going to go to the Superbowl.
Last year when the Redskins started to win there were adoring stories about how great RGIII was. He played well but he also made mistakes. He was good but not perfect like reporters said.
This year there is story after story blaming Shanahan because RGIII isn't playing perfectly. There are stories about it being Shanahan’s fault the Redskins lost last year's playoff game. They say it was Shanahan’s fault RGIII stayed in the game when he repeatedly said he was healthy enough to play and demanded to stay in the game.
The Washington Post should just stop writing about sports. They should return to writing endless stupid articles about the Redskins name and stories about how Obama is the greatest president ever.
In the end, it came down to this: Mike Shanahan doesn’t know how to coach the team to take full advantage of Robert Griffin III’s skill set as a quarterback. I wouldn’t be surprised Shanahan is fired at the end of this season.
I find the name “Washington Redskins” most offensive. I think they should be called “Landover Redskins.”
