Hah. I was kind of right. This species is closely related to the Lemurs, which would explain why all the other related species have names which could be applied to quite a few Outback animals. Slow Loris, yes.
Then again, the Ojibwa (Chippewa) native north american tribes also had some similar-sounding names for their familiar animals, if I recall correctly.
