only if it can be made a practical source of energy.
***So, you answer a hypothetical IF statement with another hypothetical IF statement. But at least you addressed it.

So, then, why are you against it? It’s not at the level of snake oil, it’s at the level of other scientific anomalies and has the potential to solve the energy crisis IF (<-—see that, it’s an IF) as you say, “it can be made a practical source of energy”. Your own words show a certain hypocrisy when it comes to this topic.

Hot fusion is a real process,
***And LENR is a real process, having been replicated more than 14700 times.

demonstrated beyond doubt, with a firm understanding of the process
***High temperature superconductivity is a “real” process, but there is no firm understanding of it. Would you hound any articles about superconductivity off of Free Republic just because there’s no established theory? What about Gravity — there’s no established theory for it, either. Sure, there’s a law of gravity, but no established theory. Does that make it snake oil to post gravitational theories?

yet as you so often point out hot fusion may never be a practical source of power generation.
***Because it can’t be scaled down. LENR would only need to be scaled up. Far, far easier to do one than the other.

If my comments offend you I wonder why you keep returning. Oh well...

I’ve said more than once that Lenr anomaly should be explored so I’m against Lenr or the study of it. And this being a open forum I feel free to express my deep (and I would say entirely justified) skepticism about Lenr or some form of it changing the world by providing endless and cheap energy. Fission was supposed to that too, remember?

Sure hypotheticals can be answered with hypotheticals...life is full of contingencies. 14,700 replications and how many failures? A million? Ten million? Does anyone care or know?

Gravity need not be understood at all so long as it operates consistently enough for a person to make predictions from observations of it in action and use it.

Hound? No one can hound anyone or anything off FR by design. Personal insult and abuse is not allowed and if you wish you can have a protected thread I assume.
And you’re always free not to reply, right?
