Bryan and I have seen all but one of the 50 movies, Avatar being the exception. Chatter said that it has a very leftist and “White
men are evil and greedy” message, so we passed.

Of course, Bryan and I have been huge Science Fiction buffs for nearly 41 years, and we enjoy the books and movies immensely.

Avatar will certainly have you rolling your eyes at some of the not-too-subtle political swipes... but even so, it's worth watching. The special effects alone are worth it, and the novel ideas coming to fruition are cool too. Just rebut the idiotic parts between yourselves in your living room, and you'll be fine.

Among my favorite retorts to the film: they can travel many light years, but they cannot do underground mining with minimal impact??? Heck even a late 1800’s prospecting company could dig a freaking mineshaft. LOL

Have fun with it. Throw popcorn at your screen when they say "shock and awe" with derision (and they do). It's Dances With Wolves in space, in 3D, with awesome graphics. You're savvy enough to be able to hear a dumb message (or 4) without adopting it. Enjoy the parts that are enjoyable.
