I don’t think some of those are “must see” by any stretch of the imagination.
Definitely not “Cloverfield” and I do not think “A Clockwork Orange” is science fiction
Sharknado didn’t make the list.
I wouldn’t label a superhero movie like “superman” scifi either.
I don’t think much of contemporary entertainment and watch little.
I happened to see Cloverfield and thought it was good.
This sort of thing used to drive Harlan Ellison nuts (well, more nuts that normal) when the stores would lump his books in with the science fiction. So he labeled his genre "Speculative Fiction," which was really quite a good description. "A Clockwork Orange" could be labeled "speculative fiction" quite accurately.

I thought Cloverfield was pretty good.
But then after watching many a Japanese giant monster movie as a kids I always wondered what it was like for the people in the cities that got smashed.
the original Godzilla is about the only one that ever bothered to address the subject on a human level.
And then along came Cloverfield.
This fan video captures the atmosphere very well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5okyVSvYeu8
But Top 50? Probably not.
