To: Cold Heat

Somebody gave a link to http://earthquake-report.com/2013/10/08/moderate-earthquake-off-east-coast-of-united-states-on-october-8-2013-2/ where the Oct 8 quake was reported, but one of the sources that website cites is the USGS. So though the USGS website was probably down and they weren’t reporting anything during the shutdown, it was just for show and they were still taking down data, which was added to this other website once the shutdown was over.

Yeah...makes sense...the admin probably forbid them to distribute the data to tick off people about the shutdown but the data is collected by computers that were not shut down.

Thanks for the link..

If I am reading that data right, there has only been one other seismic disturbance in that same vicinity since 1900.
