Never understood the Darian Grubb deal.
Addington never looked comfortable over at Stewart’s. Can’t understand that one either.
Riding herd on that mix of drivers may be impossible, LOL.
I never paid much attention to that, just figured one started sweeping floors and climbed the ladder.
Ryan Newman has a B.S. in engineering from Purdue University.
I wish that Tony would do something with Danica’s CC, I just got a feeling that might help.
Still haven’t seen the Neighbor yet He must be cramming in a vacation before “build season” starts.
Kinda like putting some blindfolded/ear plugged Stock Broker on a Bull, stand waaaay back and watch...
I think Knaus is pretty much self-educated, but he was a crew chief at 14 yrs old for his Dad and just went from there. Ron Malec, the long time car chief on the 48 is from Illinois too, not sure if they had any connection prior to Nascar or not.
Since there is so much engineering talent at a place like Hendrick or Roush, I think the crew chief secret to success is more psychology and management.
Thank you. Love the picture. Proud of my hometown. It is the home of Ernie Derr, 12 IMCA titles, Don White, IMCA and USAC Champion, Dick Hutcherson, 2 IMCA titles,14 cup wins in 103 races,3rd at LeMans. Ramo Stott, 2 ARCA and 1 USAC title, Ron Hutcherson, 3 ARCA titles. Lem and Gordy Blankenship. All together they had 27 national titles in stock car racing. Fun time growing up in that era. I use to help Ron when he built and raced a 49 ford at Sportsman Park in Keokuk and Memphis Mo. Hence the Keokuk29fan moniker.
NASCAR sets criteria for Series sponsorship: NASCAR is asking $12 million to $15 million a year for title sponsorship of its secondary series, which has been held by Nationwide Insurance since 2008. NASCARs asking price is a minimum 20 percent increase above the $10 million in rights fees that Nationwide now pays. The insurer is dropping the title sponsorship after the 2014 season. In addition to the rights fee, NASCAR executives are telling potential buyers they want a 10-year deal that includes a media commitment of more than $10 million and an activation commitment of more than $10 million, putting the overall annual spend at more than $30 million a year. NASCAR officials declined to comment on pricing. NASCAR plans to approach some of the brands that looked at the title sponsorship of the Nationwide Series when it was last available in 2007. Dunkin Donuts, AutoZone, KFC and Subway all analyzed the opportunity. Subway was close to finalizing a deal but changed its mind after negotiations began. Brands in the technology, consumer packaged goods and retail categories are other obvious targets. In addition to working with two new network partners, a new sponsor also would bear much of the cost of rebranding the series.(Sports Business Daily)(11-20-2013)
While this series often has mediocre live attendance (especially when not combined with a Cup race weekend) the tv numbers continue to be pretty solid.
When you're laying in bed there's not much traffic going through my room, Stewart said. I thought surely through three Cup championships, an IndyCar championship, winning the USAC triple crown, a national championship in '94, that I could surely out of this whole process get one hot nurse during this whole thing.
Sounds like He's back to normal.
Yeah, overall NASCAR lost track attendance big time, part due to ticket prices/hotels jacking prices on race weeks and of course most of all due to the zer0 crashing the economy.
Went the Fall Bristol race and the place was 1/2 empty- 8-10 years ago You had to be on a waiting list for somebody to die to get a ticket there.
I can buy 1 ticket to a race or get 2 months of DirecTV...
F1 in Texas had 60,000 for PRACTICE on Friday and lots of those people travel the world as Fans all season.
I MISS YOU GUYS... (with a couple of exceptions)
Sorry I called but I see Eugene still doesn’t have a sewer system...
Showing those to the son...
