The familiar blotches that make up the man in the moon, from the vantage point of Earth, happened because the moons crust is thinner on the near side than the far side to our planet, new research reveals.
The twin GRAIL spacecraft provided the most accurate sizes yet of lunar impact craters on the moon, providing more insight into what happened when Earths closest large neighbor was hammered with meteorites over billions of years

Of course they are thinner. Thats where “they” took the materials to build the cities and factories on the far side.
Duh.

The moon's crust is thinner on the near side?
Bush's fault!
Maybe this will convince the global warming deniers...

No, no, no, you’ve got it all wrong. It’s racist!!!! I’m not sure how or why, but I’m sure it’s true!
Wait, a minute! I’ve got it! The far side of the moon has only been seen (in person, not via telescopic images) by a handful of astronauts who have orbited the moon. All (AFAIK) of them were WHITE! The only part of the moon that’s ever been seen by blacks is the near side, and of course it’s the inferior side with the thinner crust!!! See, told you this whole thing is RACIST!!!
</Sarcasm off> (I really hope I didn’t actually have to include that tag)

When will the liberal/Marxists in Maryland impose a moon-light tax on the citizens of Maryland? They have already imposed a “rain” tax — as if the State government of Maryland owns all the rain clouds that pass over the state. I’m sure a sun-light tax is probably in the works for the future too.

The far side of the moon is OK. It was first photographed by a Soviet spaceship.
The moon is up...and, as usual, is only letting us see the thin side.
