Was given a new Android phone (loaded with Google programs) and realized I'm always being monitored, even when the phone is OFF. Looking for a signal blocking case/enclosure, similar to Faraday cage. Now off to the range, trying a new batch of .223 using IMR4227 and 62gr. SS109. Thanks for your input.

Any conductor enclosure will function as a Faraday Cage. The signal attenuates exponentially, so the conducting layer can be very thin. A cigar box wrapped in Aluminum foil will do. If you want something kinda pretty that you can keep in your glove compartment, get a Bud Box
TM. Very professional looking:

No, I’m just looking for some good info. Wasn’t planning on creating a moose/sister thread. Go play somewhere else.

You didn’t have to tell us you were going to the range, we already knew that.

GPS works off a satellite & has nothing to do with the cellular network. But it’s receive-only, not two-way.

Nobody is monitoring you, they are just creating a record for future use if you need to be controlled.

GPS continues to work because it’s being broadcast by a satellite, not a cell tower.

I get various sized decorative tin containers such as old cigar tins, cookie tins, cigarette holders, kids' lunch boxes, etc. at yard sales, flea markets and antique shops.
For more rugged protection, ammo cans.
I line the insides with cardboard or adhesive backed pipe insulation.
Now your credit cards are protected from RFID readers and electronics gear from monitoring and from electromagnetic pulse.

Your phone has a GPS receiver in it which is independent of the cellular network. The phone does report its location to the network when connected.

Simple, dont use it, lose it and stay away from such things.
I understand that the X Box thingys will soon be able to monitor homes if they are installed.
This high tech crap is the governments way to track you better, where ever you go.
Of course, you will always have the tin foil crowd around here that will say your paranoid.

Was given a new Android phone (loaded with Google programs) and i beat it to death with bigheadfreds titanium framing hammer thanks bigheadfred
To: GunsAndBibles
Well, I can tell you the antenna gets impeded quite easily with your hand. Just get metal that can ground both sides of the phone’s case together and that might work. The carrier antenna is housed in the plastic strip on the lower back of the unit, and the wifi antenna in the top half strip running above the camera.

If you have any old CRT monitors gathering dust, they usually contain 4-8lbs of lead shielding you could probably put to use.
Or if you reload your shotgun ammo, you could make a small cover out of the pellets.
Come to think of it, years ago, camera/photo stores used to sell a lead foil bag to store photo film for international travel (to minimize the effects of older baggage screening machines).
