Fairfax,Woodson highschool: at 7am I was voter #109, that's LOW! For the last 18 year I have voted at same time to get a feel for turnout. I'm in a Heavy Dem area.... So there is hope!
Do VA govs serve 4 or 5 years?
I live in Arlington. Last year the line for voting midday was 1-2 hours long, filled with low information voters and Obamabots. Today I walked right up to the front. Not a single person in line.
Ron Paul stumps for Cuccinelli in VA
I may have to change my opinion of him.
At this point, we take friends wherever we can get them and iron out the differences later (something the GOP at large could learn).
4 year term and can not serve consecutive terms
Normal turnout at 8AM in about a 50/50 R/D precinct in Newport News. No African-American in sight though.
The guy working the polls at the school where I voted had a Boston accent...this may end badly!
Gloucester Point? Did you ever have the privilege of eating at Nick’s across the bridge?
Excellent. I only shop there to get things I can't get elsewhere such as cold-pressed olive oil, golden beets, or chard. Every time in the check-out line, I ask for plastic bags (which they do not have). When they offer paper bags, I always remark how I had been led to believe that they were environmentally conscious, but I see now that they are not. I then explain to them that with the energy it took to recycle that one paper bag, that 84 plastic bags could have been recycled instead.
Needless to say, they hate me.
Voted about 10am this morning in a conservative precinct. There was no line and my wife and I were two of the three voters even seen in the polling place. We were out numbered by the poll workers. Conservatives need to get out now. This feels like a very low turnout.
I suspect it no longer makes a difference who votes for whom or what the turnout numbers are. They are stealing elections as openly as the Soviets ever did.
How did gov election get off kilter of even number year elections. Was it by design?
Sure have! As well as their affiliated restaurant up in Shackleford's.
Got the polls at 7:00 AM. Told the Democrat handing out the ballets that I was not a baby killer or like to screw men up their butts. Then I voted. Voters were few.
I recently spotted a young woman here in Atlanta with a ‘WA’ bumper sticker on her car. I asked if it stood for Western Albemarle. She was shocked that I would know that. I told her I remember when the school was originally built. (I grew up in W’boro and had cousins that went to C’ville HS.)
109 people had voted at 7:00 a.m. and that’s LOW?? Wow! Sounds like a lot to me, but you know VA better than I do. Thanks for this thread.
yes
Any reaction?
I drove to Yorktown a few years back to take her to this great seafood place I had been telling her about since before we got married. When I pulled up in front of the place, got out, and then saw with my own eyes that Nick’s was no more, I wept uncontrollably on the ground for a good 30 minutes before she was able to get me back in the car.
