Art Bell show on Sirius radio was being pirated by many and streaming free, he said, everywhere. Many haven't been able to hear Art's show as they could not pay for Sirius radio so Art tried to get Sirius radio to cut a deal with Sirius for the show be free as it aired. Only the night it aired.
Today the news came through, the deal didn't:

His Gothic voice and attitude was perfect for his material.

Too bad. His show was very entertaining. I have sirius/xm and his show and 80’s on the 8 were the main things I liked to listen.

the man is legend He'll be back. Unless of course he's already beat a path back to the Philippines having caught wind of our imminent economic collapse.

This really sucks because Sirius and Clear Channel had a falling out last month that resulted in Talk America being dropped by Sirius XM. So there’s no Coast to Coast with George Noory on satellite radio, and now no Art Bell Dark Matter.
Time to consider dropping my two XM subscriptions.

I don’t know why Art Bell left C2C. It was a little before my time. I do enjoy the old shows on Yootoob though.

Laplata, years ago, Art Bell took a break when some creeps assaulted and kidnapped his son. Then Art Bell took a short break after his beloved wife Ramona suddenly passed away after suffering another one of her severe asthma attacks. After grieving, he met someone new, fell in love, married, and moved to the Philippines and began broadcasting from the Philippines.
A few years later Art and his new wife had a baby girl. Art Bell then took an active role in raising his daughter, while remaining active in the Ham Radio community. He continued working on Coast to Coast doing fill-in and weekends. Then some major problems arose while broadcasting during Typhoon season and I believe he stopped for awhile.

NormsRevenge, agree with you, I like Art Bell's shows, they're fun, they're interesting and Art Bell always treats his listeners and guest callers with respect.
From what I understand, Art Bell moved back to his property in Pahrump, Nevada with his wife and daughter and began broadcasting again from there.

One of the first guests was “doctor” jonathan reed- who hd this incredible story and photos of an alien he encountered in the woods- it was an amazing story at first... until this time he changed it
Now he claimed the alien used to come visit him from time to time, over the last decade or so, and when he first caught it, it would come out of his freezer and have little chats with him... you could tell even art was no longer buying it and seemed extremely disappointed.

Art Bell should start a crowdfunded radio station to compete Coast to Coast. He would have a small army of competent technicians to rival Google if he made the call. Do it Art!

The Alien Burrito story was great. But there were so many great stories, whether true or just plain crazy. The show usually felt like sitting around a campfire swapping tales. Bell has a great talent for drawing people out to tell their tales, and he does not talk down to his audience and tell them what to think.
I'll never forget Mel's Hole, or the night a guy called in while supposedly flying a light plane into Area 51, or the way Art would sometimes hold up one of his cats to the camera.
