When I was a preschooler my father, to earn some extra money, joined the Air Force Reserve. After being gone for a couple of weeks he came home, looking forward to seeing his little girl.

I saw him, and was frightened by his uniform. When he called to me, I ran away screaming.

I’m in my fifties now and Dad has never let me forget that incident.
