Louisianas top health-insurance provider said that not a single person enrolled in a new health-care plan offered through the Affordable Care Act on its first day.

Maybe they tried but the system didn’t work. :)
Enthusiasm will wane over time, so if you are at 0 on day one.....
I believe an earlier thread said the same about California. This is improbable. If they spent millions of dollars advertising that you could sign up to have your colon ripped out by a monster people would sign up. Out of a million people you’d get at least a few hundred that would think that’d be cool.
I’m guessing you simply can’t sign up. Sum Ting Wong.
You’re probably right. The low information types are also the low effort types. They’re lazy and easily discouraged and will quickly tire of the confusion and demands on them to make decisions. Their span of attention is measured in minutes.
Gosh I thought there would be lines around the block and their web sites jammed. /s
Ah, but there's a flaw in your premise! There actually is something intrinsically cool -- albeit at the sub-atomic level -- about having one's colon ripped out by a monster.
But there is nothing cool, at any level, about Obamacare.
The only reason anyone would buy a service through a government entity instead of the free market place would be if that service was cheaper. And it should be cheaper. Not more.
Remember Armin Meiwes that advertised on the net that he would kill you then eat your dead corpse he got over 100 volunteers a few were actually his dinner
That’s still too many.
Their span of attention is measured in BUTTERFLY! ...
I don't think that's true for most of them. Most people are computer savy and they've gone through procedures before to get Obamaphones, food stamps, housing subsidies,..... I suspect that it's just like the rest of us. Putting all of that information on line in a new, untried and untrusted system is crazy. Keep in mind most of the people they're trying to sign up do function somewhat in society.
I wonder of those that did call were reporters testing the system and how many were low info voters who believed obama and thought they could get a Cadillac plane for about $100 a month.
I went on the coveredca.org website today in Los Angeles, had no trouble viewing it. (I’ve got a good day job, so I’m already covered, but I just wanted to take a look at it.)
they aren’t signing up, because it’s not FREE!!!!
I’m a musician, and recorded an album with a major producer 2 years ago (he also recorded Elton John, Genesis, etc).. music is free now, and basically has no value!!... we can’t sell a frigg’n record.. however, that’s okay, I knew that going in..what the heck, it was a labor of love for me anyway...a bad investment, though....
those “folks” that O”Reilly is always talking about, they now want everything for free...
those poor folks on Medicaid.... do you really think they will sign up? don’t think so..they already have free healthcare.
this will be a joke, as it already is, of course...
and quite soon, I would imagine...
“Their span of attention is measured in minutes.”
My span of attention is measured in minutes.
Cruz - “ain’t nobody got time for that”. Ain’t it the truth.
Lets just hope they show a little more cerebral effort than they do when it comes to voting.
Have you interviewed many job applicants recently? Most have difficulty responding to simple questions or filling out easy forms. Its actually surprsing when they manage to show up on time. But they have all the sitcoms memorized.
a Cadillac plane
********
lol!!!! Great line.
So the Affordable Healthcare Program isn’t ‘affordable’?
Gee I wonder why people aren’t rushing to sign up....
I think I saw something like that when I clicked the wrong link on a dating site, but I think the poster was just bragging.
Enjoyed your post! Some naive people would indeed sign up for anything. Sounds cool...like sign me up now (but get someone to help me do it). lol
