The episode was called “Felina”. Wasn’t that the name of the female love interest in the Marty Robbins song?

And in the song, he goes back into town for her, knowing he will die.
Felina cheated on that guy, too.

The episode was called Felina. Wasnt that the name of the female love interest in the Marty Robbins song? Yes, though I think there are some variations in the way the name is spelled. When the episode name was announced, I figured that was the reference. With Walt headed back to the southwest and a likely gun battle, it fit very well. It also served up a specific hint as to Walt's fate. Very nicely done.

Felina is ‘finale’ spelled sideways.

I’ve seen some break down ‘Felina’ in the following way:
Fe = iron = blood
Li = lithium = meth
Na = sodium = tears
Also, Felina is an anagram for Finale.
