Today Rand Paul went on Hannity, and Hannity did a great job grilling him. He continually asked why the Republicans can't stand as strong as the Democrats, and Paul just kept saying that the Republicans are not united enough and don't have the leverage. He said he didn't agree with Cruz's strategy and that a government shutdown would be hurtful to the Republican party. It really could have been Mitch McConnell talking...who by the way Rand Paul has already endorsed. Hannity practically hung up on Rand Paul, and that really surprised me because you never hear Hannity treat Republicans that way. I was very proud of how he handled the interview with Rand. I'm really disappointed in how quickly Rand seems to be moving away from the people and into the establishment. Anybody else catch the interview?
The longer they are in DC the farther they get from the people
I hope Rand Paul spends every dime he has to become POTUS and loses his bid to Cruz as he certainly is a turncoat and doesn’t deserve any respect, or votes!
Only when I am aware
I never got to the point where I fully trusted Rand Paul.
What I see here is a guy who sees a threat to his presidential run getting all the attention, and he doesn’t like it.
LOL, and oh, so true.
I think it’s way too early for either of them to be playing the long game, though that’s obviously what Rand did on immigration. He totally triangulated that issue. He really did sound defeatist on Hannity. I like Paul, Cruz, Lee, and Palin a lot. I have no doubt that if any of them were on top of a ticket, the rest would work very hard for that ticket. We will just have to see where it goes. I do like how Ted Cruz doesn’t have to be at all nice to the Establishment. Rand and Sarah are both a little bit hamstrung, due to their respective ties to McConnell and McCain.
I won’t get out of bed to vote for Ran Paul.
I’d sleep in.
Why does Hannity do that? I'll never understand it. If I wanted to hear that garbage I'd just flip it over to MSNBC.
I don’t know if he just likes to expose the underside of libtard America, or if he enjoys pissing off conservatives who really can’t understand what political expertise Jesse Jackson’s escort could have.
"Rand, You admire this man, this Ted Cruz. Uncompromising men are easy to admire. He has courage; so does a dog. But it is exactly the ability to *compromise* that makes a man noble. And understand this: Barack Obama is the most ruthless man ever to sit in the White House. And none of us, and nothing of the GOP will remain, unless *we* are as ruthless. Give ear to our RINOs. Knowing their minds is the key to the Presidency."
Are you saying Rand is playing the gop?
Great gig if that’s the backstory.
It will backfire. I believe people want a strong, courageous, tell it like it is man for the top job.
barry took us to the gutter, we need industrial strength to get back to the flippin curb.
Thank you for sharing, but I don’t really give a crap.
I’m not sure that a great many of them were ever with us or for us to start.
They seem to have nothing but contempt for those who fund their entire existence.
Perhaps we should simply cease doing that.
John Cornyn, who kept talking in circles.”
My grandpa used to have a saying, “Head for the round house, Nellie, they can’t corner you there”. Appears to be what Cornyn has done.
I’d go for that
Actually the problem is with the politicians NOT being in lockstep with the Constitution and other Founding Documents which are insistent on how our Constitutional Republic is designed to function.
Free Republic members along with Conservatives and other Tea Party types are quite vocal and strict in judging politicians who veer away from the Constitution in their policies.
That is the way it should work, so it is NOT a "big problem with freepers and conservatives". Conversely it is solutions to the problem that they are working on.
freepers did it to Rubio
LOL Rubio did it to himself I'm sure you know why he was admonished by freepers. For good cause I might add, although Rove, McCain et al would disagree.
Yep. I’m about there.
I’ve no further use for them.
Excluding Ted Cruz, my hat is off to the gentleman.
Yep.
>> I’m really disappointed in how quickly Rand seems to be moving away from the people and into the establishment.
He’s a turkey.
Rubio speaks one thing to TEA party groups and the exact opposite to hispanic groups. Rand Paul talks out both sides of his mouth. Cruz doesn’t do any of that. So I doubt he’ll have the same problems.
The only people who will try to pigeon hole Cruz will be the GOPe, the RINO, socialist, establishment/elite of the republican party.
