Apples iOS 7 will release to the public tomorrow, and many people are eagerly waiting to update their iPhones, iPads and iPods. The mobile operating system has been completely revamped, so if you want to be ready for iOS 7 you might want to get prepared. Its time for the iOS 7 download countdown, so get ready!
Weve been keeping readers informed about iOS 7, and the first thing to note is that this will be a huge change that some might find take some time to get used to. However, many others will love the new look iOS straight away, and it will seem almost like having a new phone without having to pay anything.
Apple has announced that the new operating system will see a general release tomorrow, but as is usually the case, gave no indication of what time that might be. Recently we created a countdown tool based on the time that iOS 6 released last year, as this is the closest time we can predict. Our forecast is that iOS 7 will arrive around 9am PDT/ 12 noon EDT. Thats around 5pm in the UK.

Yes, owners of older iPhones, get ready to have your phone become a useless, crashing slow piece of junk so that Apple can motivate you to buy a new one.
This is exactly what happened to me with my iPhone 3GS, and is why I ditched it and bought a Lumia 920.
Oh gawd.
I’m gonna have to listen to this crap for the next week.
Goody
What fresh hell is this?
That’s strange, Scutter. Members of my family are variously using a 3Gs, a 4, a 4s, and a 5. . . and one member is even using my old, original 2007 first model iPhone with out the problems YOU claim sent you screaming to a brand new Windows phone. . . almost 3 1/2 years after the 3Gs was released! Most people upgrade their phones a bit more often than that. That 3Gs went through three FREE upgrades of its OSall of which improved its capabilities and speedwhile the vast majority of Android users got ZERO OS upgrades for their phones, and you are complaining????
Of course, the 3Gs and the original iPhone my family members are using are running the APPROPRIATE versions of iOS for them, not the latest version. . . they don’t have the hardware to handle it.
If you were going to buy a new phone anyway, why not buy an iPhone that could HANDLE the new operating system. That sounds like a no brainier to me. Most iOS upgrades make your iPhones run better AND faster, not the FUD you are throwing around. iOS 7 works fine on ALL iOS devices back through iPhone 4 forward, and the iPad 2 onward. No, it does not work for the 3Gs and back. Too bad.
You thought wrong.
I sure hope they don’t force this on end users the way previous upgrades were. I had to get my Mom’s iPad completely reinitialized after iOS 6 installed itself. There was some sort of bug that caused it to run out of onboard storage. It made downloading books to the Nook app impossible.
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
On Limbaugh's show no less...
oh yea.. I’m sooo on the edge of my seat waiting with great ... anticipation

then again, I’m still running 5.1.1 on my ipad
Yep.
You are a cruel...cruel person!

I've been reading posts by developers using the iOS 7 gold master - it seems to run quite smoothly on the iPhone 4S, at least. I'm not as sure about the iPhone 4, because, well, I have a 4S, so that's what I've been reading up on.
Jeeez, why are Apple haters drawn to threads such as this like moths to a light in the darkness? And they feel compelled to take gratuitous shots at Apple products.
I’ve never felt the need to go to threads on Android or other type phones to take shots at those products.
