I was in a Japanese garden with my 11 year old Granddaughter and I mentionedmhow hard it wasmto square the beautynand peace of the garden with Ww iI and she looked perplexed so I told her the stories my Father told me of the bombing at Pearl, the death marches, the cruelty. She said “ but Grahamy, we bombed them first, it was our fault”

She was stunned when I gave her a history lesson and later remarked it was sad our country was going down. She has been taught this and her parents don’t even know. I was so sad.

...upon hearing such a remark, I would have taken the youngster’s hand, firmly, but not without gentleness, and pointedly asked her where she had heard that...if she answered school, then a trip to that school would be next...and a rather taut conversation with whomever ran the place would ensue...

...perhaps that individual was not there at the time this was taught, but that wouldn’t matter...the institution taught it, and this person now ran that institution...if I received anything less than the response ‘this will be seriously looked into’, with the assurance that I would be able to check in on the progress, I would state my intention to go to the next school board hearing and publicly announce what the school in question had taught...

...assuredly, enough townspeople would be sufficiently outraged to take some action...
