Always go after crawly bugs with a wet paper towel or tissue. It immobilizes them.

Most of the time, these ‘hacks’ lists are LAME. However, at least half of these are cool!

Nice.

Re: the hard boiled eggs. I place mine in a pot filled with ice and water while the eggs are still hot. The eggs literally jump out of the shell once they have cooled.

Use coupons at competitors!

Last week I used (2) $20 Meijer pharmacy coupons at Giant Eagle, added 5 other coupons (buy 4 boxes get 1 box free), and $11.25 out of pocket to the free $40. I bought 25 boxes of cereal that had extra fuel perks attached.

End result - 25 boxes of cereal AND $30 worth of free gas, all for $11.25 from pocket!

Love the blt idea.

But putting pasta in a Pringles can might make your pasta taste like potato chips [depending on the humidity].

Pasta absorbs flavors...best to keep it free from all flavors until cooked.

The paper towel in the freezer to cool a beer does not work.

Not.

Not.

That was disappointing. I am always trying to find a way to get a beverage colder, quicker without putting ice IN it, and thought this would fill the bill. But...didn’t work so I didn’t try any of the others.

But, you know what WILL cool a beer down quickly? Fill a large bowl with ice, pour in a tablespoon or two of salt, add water and beers. Swirl around and let set, and in less than 10 minutes, you have an ice cold beer.

THAT works, because I have done it.

As for Florida palmetto bugs or roaches...I always use Mousse (yeah, the hair stuff) to immobilize them..then wipe them up with paper towel and toss.

The secret to easy to shell hard-boiled eggs, as every grandmother should know...

DO NOT USE FRESH EGGS.

When I was on the farm, we tended to make a lot more egg salad in bulk than, say, custards. I had color coded dots with a sharpie pen on the carton for each week's eggs and as batches of 3 week old eggs were used up for egg salad, the 2 week old ones would be rotated into the "old" slots.

I find WD-40 or Hoppe’s number 9 works on wasps or hornets.

WD-40 comes in a spray can, but Hoppe’s is more romantic.

I know that's a lot, but I was really after the fuel perks. The only catch is you have to get 30 gallons all at once to get the full value of the fuel perks, but the ole lady has an SUV and I have some cans.

Anytime we eat out we buy gift cards at this store first. Every $50 spent on gift cards gets $6 worth of free gas. It takes awhile, but we just wait until we have enough fuel perks to get the whole 30 gallons for free.

if’you stir it for several minutes with the cans in there they can get ice cold faster than ten minutes.

I used to work with a guy who would use White-Out to hide the stains on his tie or shirt.

.

.

Yeah, you kinda had to know him.

Try some Gunk engine degreaser (not the foaming kind, the other), on those wasps!

They literally stop moving and drop the instant it hits them.
