I could go along with that picture of an energy flash, with the caveat that without more sure information, I would not want to trap our Lord’s works in the framework of “pure physics” especially when we know Him for miracles like stopping and restarting the rotation of the earth (i.e. making the sun stand still). I have the same gentle chiding for the “creation science” folks, even the old-earth ones who are not as great offenders in that regard. If there was a flash it was a joyful manifestation of power.
There is some real smart physics gal that has studied the Shroud, and I think is the one that came up with the idea of a “big bang” theory. On a Biblical note that makes sense considering the “new Creation” because of Christ’s death and resurrection.
I think it was her that also talked about how the image is the same the entire way around the shroud, with no compression of the image or the muscles showing on the back side - so no body weight pushing down. A suspension of “time and space and gravity” at the instant of the resurrection.
