President Obama welcomed the NCAA Champion Louisville Cardinals to the White House on Tuesday, praising some of the star basketball players by name, then noting that Coach Rick Pitino is the first coach in history to win a championship at two different schools.
“But Coach understands he didn’t do any of this alone. As he said, ‘Players put coaches in the Hall of Fame,’” Obama said. But Pitino’s record shows that he's the one who’s made winners out of his players, not the other way around.

last time louisville won the title was 1986....so yes...the coach does matter.
pitino took UK to three Final Fours and one a title in 96 and then played for another in 97. Most of his players were also on the 98 title team.
UK had not been to the Final Four since 1984.
The coach does matter.
He has nothing of actual value to teach anyone.
He just can't let it go.
Having actually never accomplished anything that wasn't handed to him on a silver affirmative action platter, he just can't admit that there are some people who are real achievers.
He is an embarrassment and his name will go down on the tombstone of the entitlement era.

Obama's words might carry more weight if he had actually honestly accomplished something in life himself.

It’s that old equality crap that the left is pushing down our throats. The latest with making every one the same involves the military. All active duty and retiree’s have been told to remove the windshield sticker which designates enlisted or officers. They are blaming it on the terrorist.......

I think it’s a preemptive strike against the imminent failure of Obamacare. If Obama didn’t build it, then he can’t be blamed for the trainwreck that ensues.
There’s no “I” in team, but there’s a “me” in there, if you look to see it.
In terms of players, there is no doubt that you should play as a member of a team. Prima donnas and showboats will only be tolerated as long as they produce and sometimes they will be traded away or cut even though they are producing.
But, Rick Pitino is not a player on the Louisville men’s basketball team. He’s the head coach. In terms of players, they first of all do not fall out of the sky. They are recruited. Then, even the most talented of them, are coached. This especially includes making a team out of individual players. Then, through the course of games, the coach makes a series of critical decisions.
Finally, head coach of a college team - even at the elite level - is just so very different from head coach at the professional level. I think we saw that in the tournament, with the coach’s embrace of injured player Kevin Ware.
Now, let’s think about this for a minute. Do we know of any actual leadership by Barack Obama? Yes, he is a gifted orator and am ambitious politician, but who would buy a book on leadership from that guy?
