NY State banned many firearms some time ago and even required they be turned in (as I recall). Haven't heard a word about that since. What's going on there?

That actually reminds me of a Federal law along the same lines. It's perfectly legal to own a 37mm flare/gas launcher, and it's also legal to own less-than-lethal munitions for it such as rubber ball projectiles...but it's
not legal to possess both at the same time without a DD (Destructive Device) permit.
You can possess flare and tear gas projectiles for your flare launcher, local restrictions aside.

Escaped_from_NY was my first choice, but it was already taken. I had to come up with an alternate. It’s official: TrappedInNY is now FreedFromNY. (And very thankful to be so:-)

We need individuals in NY to challenge this clearly Unconstitutional law. Unless of course ex post facto laws are now a-okay and nobody told me.
