Martha-Renee Kolleh, owner of a café in the overwhelmingly white town of Ossett in West Yorkshire, England, contends that a number of potential customers cross the threshold of her business and turn away upon discovering that she's black, according to the BBC.
Fed up with the unspoken bigotry and prejudice, she decided to confront the challenge head on by posting a warning sign on the door.
The sign on the door of Yeanon Cafe in Ossett, West Yorkshire, reads: "I am a black woman ... If you are allergic to black people, don't come in."
Martha-Renee Kolleh said some people "take a look at me and walk out".
Local councillor Tony Richardson said he was "shocked" as he did not believe racism was widespread in the town.

Maybe she had a sign that said, “We serve scones and we serve biscuits, but we don’t serve crackers.”

Like lots of white run businesses, there is likely something about her establishment that people don't like or are surprised at upon entry (not what they thought it was, smells bad, etc.), and they turn around and walk out. On a road trip last week I walked out of a place I wanted to investigate called The Thirsty Goat. It sounded like it might be a fun place with pub food and some pleasant atmosphere. Instead I found a rather boring motel bar.
Now perhaps I misjudged it, but that doesn't matter, I walked in, looked around, and walked out. More importantly, I'm betting I'm not the only traveler to do so. As there were no blacks working there, it can't be attributed to racism, but if there had been, then there are many that would have watched and presumed me a racist.

Fat ugly waitresses don’t make as much as attractive trim waitresses. Rude waiters don’t make as much as nice waiters.
Some people are quite unpleasant and make you feel as if they are doing you a huge favor by taking your money. Those people don’t do well in people-person roles.
Individuals differ in a myriad of different ways, race being just one. That she can fathom only one reason speaks volumes.
I stood at the counter by myself...while a black employee talked with some other black customers. I was being ignored. After an uncomfortable amount of time......one of the black customers suggested to the employee she should help me.
She did...but wasn't happy about it.
I'd never ate at PopEye's...but heard it was good. It was okay.....but the service sucked. And I think it was racist.
And it just totally pisses me off...to see that lady confronting that murderer...and all those people in the background just #^$#%&^ standing there!?!?!?!

Maybe she doesn’t understand that their no tipping policy goes both ways.
