Before my son-in-law was my son-in-law we were down in my basement and I showed he and my daughter my collection.
Looking at all of them, and the shotguns, he asked me “what do you hunt with them?”
Looked at him and said, “I didn’t buy them guns to shoot no animal.”
First thing I did when I got any of my shotguns was to put the plugs away...
If a woman’s father does something like that with me (or mother, because there’s plenty of women in the gun culture), or when I first visit and meet them he’s cleaning a shotgun, I know what that means, but I’ll talk to him about it anyway. I mean yeah, being a Conservative I understand firearms, but living in Brooklyn, the only time I see them is when police, National Guard, or cash carriers for armored car companies have them.
Hopefully though, I won’t be in NYC, and I’ll have some of my own by then, before I lose them in an unfortunate boat tipping.
