If you hire an attorney, listen to them! MOM has this in the bag.
A couple of months ago, I watched a training session a defense attorney gave and his beginning premise was, don't say any word at all to anyone except your attorney. Then, he told why and when he got through, I wouldn't say anything if such happened to me. You can see the problem it caused with Zimmerman - they keep saying he changed his story five times (something like that) and if he hadn't said a word, they could not be saying that. If you change one word of what you said before, they will get you for that. Any positive statement you make will be used against you in a bad way.
Then, a prosecutor spoke and he said the attorney was right, say nothing, and then he told what prosecutors can and will do with any word you say.
Believe me, you say a word and it will come back to hit you in the head. Words you think will help you, won't, when the prosecutor uses those words.
