Adding to my post 198, I pay that nearly $5,000 a year for insurances and I go to the doctor once a year to renew prescriptions and have a blood test. Medicare and insurance companies are making money off me but it’s there if I need it.
Look, I’m 80, but I was on my husband’s company policy until I was about 74, so I haven’t even been on Medicare many years. I know some older people have bad health and I want them to be able to be treated, but I’m still healthy and hope to remain that way. Right now, I’m paying that almost $5,000 a year for one doctor visit a year.
As I say, my Medicare is administered by a private insurance company. I suspect that one reason Medicare is so far in the red is because of about 60% fraud... which no private insurance company could sustain. Perhaps I am wrong about the level of fraud in Medicare.
