I keep a photo of Lucas that is very poignant to me.
It shows the evil of which we are capable but also our wonderful goodness.

I recommend The Lost Dogs by Jim Gorant, Gotham Books, NY, 2010, to anyone here who wants to learn about the entire Vick case from the investigation and prosecution through the rehabilitation and final placement of the dogs. It's 279 page long, excluding acknowledgements and bibliography, very well written, and a terrific read.
