We knew she was easily bored and somewhat distractable - except when she’s not - but she’s never showed any sign of being hyperactive.

Things like ADHD are difficult for parents to “diagnose.” I spent years trying to understand why my son had such a short attention span: it was because he was hyperactive. He was 16 before the diagnosis was put in writing, and it probably would not have happened had it not been for the needs of my daughter, who had lost her birth mother.

At that point, when my son was diagnosed, I realize that I, too, had suffered from the same disability. Back in THAT day, I was a “D” student except in the classes that challenged me.

It isn’t easy being ADHD!

But DANGIT! We SHINE!!!
