as a young girl traumatized by the death of my father when I was 10, I was certainly glad that Fathers’ Day was after school let out.
I agree with those that do not see the need to institutionalize these celebrations. There are too many exceptions to the nuclear family, some having nothing to do with personal choices.
With socialist-entitlement K-12 schooling, the voting mob imposes its worldview on other people's children and forces everyone to pay for this cruelty.

Maybe, a child from traditional or non-traditional families might have attended a dame school in the home of a neighbor just a few houses away from their homes with 4 to 10 other students who were there also for day care, as well.
Maybe, the local day care center provides schooling through the 8th grade.
Maybe, there are tutors with home study.
Some summer camps might retrofit to become boarding schools.
The local Karate studio, children's theater, or dance studio might become a small school.
There are communities across this nation who have vibrant and **first class** fire departments that are completely volunteer run. Are citizens who are capable of providing fire departments and EMT services not also fully capable of organizing schooling for their community's children?
