"A sometimes controversial figure -- a backer of the Conservative party, he was the only leading football figure to call for a minute's silence to honor the late former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher....." City's Muzzie owners are sad. I wasn't very familiar with Wigan until today, but after reading the story about Dave Whelan, I may become a fan.
Now Wigan has two games to keep itself alive. Looks like a straight math exercise, they’re not playing the other possibles heads up. Stan Collymore had a nice comment today about how his late dad was a Wigan supporter.
A Conservative upset over the Muslim horde... hopefully a sign of things to come.
Love how these smaller teams are shaking things up. Hull City, too! Used to live nearby. Love Hull.
I was out with my youngest who is has been in West Ham’s Academy [says proudly] and he;s only 10 but when I heard about this I jumped like mad at the pitch.
BRILLAINT.
Mancini is off and to be honest , his decisions to not play Tevez or Sergio A sometimes in the league or take Tevez off was sheer madness.
Now as a Manc on the red side I’m chuffed to see city win nothing at all HA HA
Wigan is fighting relegation from Barclays premier league, and beat No 2 in the BPL Man City in the cup final. It goes to show that any team can beat any team on any given weekend. Man City have a load of money to burn. I have a feeling there is about to be 2 clubs in Manchester looking for new managers. FTM
Great news! Wish I had seen the game.
I was watching baseball and did not see this. I certainly wasn’t expecting this result.
I had to work today so I can spend Mother’s Day with the wife. BUT, I stayed home to watch this first.
GREAT game. Wigins was deserving. I always pull for underdogs and have my heart broken regularly(NFL Cardinals ! ! ! ). This time was different. The Wigan fans were just great. That the substitute makes the winning goal in stoppage time was just absolutely appropriate.
Loved it. The fact that goals are rare makes one on edge the entire 90 minutes in a big match.
BTW, I have no respect for City’s way of simply buying a team, but their players showed surprising class after the whistle blew. Chapeau to them.

Wigan was always more famous for it Rugby League club, and the soccer club was very weak.
