The problem with time travel is it would also require interstellar travel, in that the Sun is traveling at 486,000 miles per hour around the center of the milky way (about 250 km/s). And the Milky Way is traveling through space at 630 km per second. The speed of light is 299 792.458 km/s. So for every 340 years of time you travel you also have to travel roughly one light year, which would take a couple of years, assuming you had a serious means of propulsion. (This is just adding the speeds, which is wrong, but you get the idea.)

There are probably a few technical difficulties still to work out regarding time travel but since the actual medium is space/time there may be an, as yet, undiscovered and elegant remedy.
