Your second photo (on the bottom) is of General Jefferson C. Davis.

"General Jefferson C. Davis, no relation to the CSA president, was from Indiana. He had joined the army as a private in time for the Mexican War and had received an officer's commission at the end of that conflict in recognition of his merit. He was at Fort Sumter when it was bombarded, had participated in the battle at Pea Ridge and had been promoted to Brigadier General at the end of 1861."
