That is what we do. In 2007 we pd cash for an 06 Jag S Type with 17k miles on it. It was less than 1/2 the price of a new one. Only way to buy luxury cars.

Oh, trust me, a 2011 Jag XJ would be a primo acquisition. It’s one of the best looking sedans ever, in my opinion. What kind of service experience have you had with your S Type?

Actually it has been a great car. We bought it off the Ford clearance lot and it was under warranty for 5 years. Never used it. I recently went ‘shopping’ and test drove a Lexus and a Mercedes. Told the salesman....sorry, I don’t like them any better than the Jag.

I learned to drive (before I had a license) in one of these that my Dad had as a beach buggy.

Took my driving test(s) in a 70 Buick LeSabre. Took me 5 tries. Ever try to execute a 3-point turn in a 70 LeSabre?

I don’t know what I have... One has an American name but is largely a German car assembled in Tennessee. The other has a Japanese name and was built in Indiana...

I keep it very simple. The car I have now was a great deal. The car I bought for my wife was a great deal. The car I had before this one was a great deal. The next car will also be — you guessed it — a great deal. Whichever dealer, foreign or domestic, gives me the best bang for my buck. The smart sales rep is willing to do this - never pay list.
