So very sad.
I’m glad I got to see him before he died.
I always said that if I ever killed myself it would be to a George Jones song.

Ol’ Possum was a good entertainer in his day. I think his liver should be inducted into the hall of fame!

RIP Possum. They don’t make country singers like you any more.

I just loved “He Stopped Lovin’ Her Today” and I’m not much of a country music fan. One of the best ballads ever.

Oh this is sad... I grew up listening to George Jones. I still have an 8 track cassette of his all time hits volume I... the first 8 track I ever bought. RIP George!

Good-night, God Speed and Thank You very much Mr. Jones.
I grew-up a country kid with a transistor radio stuck to my ear.
Baseball with Waite Hoyt (
The Best of Waite in the Rain) and the Cincinnati Reds (Schoenling, Burger, Hudepohl and Weideman beer were the yearly sponsors) and music was George Jones and the Rolling Stones.

Proud to say that my husband’s band once fronted for George Jones at Indian Lake, near Webster MA. (Lake Chargagagogmanchargagogchabunagungamog)Huge crowd. George was okay to work with. Not as “big-headed” as some the band fronted for. He will be missed.
