Military Police stopping people? That is Martial law, not “Shelter in Place”. I’d told them to piss off and kept walking. The lawsuit would let me retire.

Clearly, they’re determining just how many Good Citizens will roll over when the Government Employees require it.
And the non-government criminals are taking notes-—they cause mayhem and murder, and the government will aid them in terrorizing and bullying the people.

That is pathetic. An American city scared shitless by a 19 year old.
This is a result of 50 years of the wuss-o-facation of America. The metrosexuals have taken over. An entire city cowers while a few hard, rough men and women try to protect them. It could not have happened 60 years ago. The bombing. Maybe. The cowering. Never! It makes me want to puke. Not in my little corner of the world. Never!

Some even here on Free Republic are praising this very action.
I’d say the problem is beyond “people are scared”.

The question is often asked, “What can a handgun do against an army?” Well, if a 19-year-old with a gun can shut down a city of millions for a few days, I’d say the answer is evidently quite a lot. What would it look like with 1000, or even 100 people “strenuously objecting” to some sort of tyranny? I’m not seeking to find out, but I think we have the answer.

All of this sound and fury and show of force was meaningless and ended up delaying the perpetrator’s apprehension. It wasn’t until the lockdown was lifted that the homeowner went out to have a look and found the terrorist hiding in his boat. The politicians wanted to make it look like they were doing something to catch this guy when their grandstanding actually was a major distraction that had no role in the apprehension.

The politicians wanted to make it look like they were doing something to catch this guy when their grandstanding actually was a major distraction that had no role in the apprehension. Not at all! The politicians are training the peasants to lick the boot that stamps them on the face...
Looks like this iteration was a MAJOR success!
Check out the peasants licking the boots in this UK Daily Mail article:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2311443/Boston-bomber-caught-Dzhokhar-Tsarnaev-captured-ALIVE-hiding-inside-BOAT.html
They have peasants who look NOTHING like the suspect proned out, and there's one where they've got a gun jammed in some peasant chick's face.

Since they know exactly what the guy they are looking for looks like, what earthly excuse do they have for this?
Possibly that the guy is trying to enter a secured zone and they're trying to ascertain his reason for being there.
A few years back there was a really big and bad thunderstorm that moved through the area where I lived during rush hour. A LOT of trees down, and power lines with them. Plus flash flooding. The police had roads blocked off, including one that I normally cut through as a shortcut in getting home, and were turning back anyone who couldn't produce a driver's license saying that they lived down them.
For people who were listening to the streaming police scanner last night, they should recall the traffic about how the press were trying to get into the area that had been cordoned off. In that kind of situation NO ONE other than someone who had real business being there (like police, and possibly homeowners) should have been allowed to pass.
