Wow. I had heard that Paypal was anti-second ammendment, but I now know first hand. I received a phone call and this email today from Paypal. I have been a member for about 13 years. I am canceling my account today. Paypal puts Ammunition and firearms in the same category as narcotics, steroids, drug paraphernalia, misc. crimes, etc. See my pasted content from Paypal's website at the end of this email.
Further, my sale of ammunition went to a single Mom in PA who is concerned about her safety and being unable to defend herself given the recent political environment and new anti-second amendment laws. She was unable to get any ammunition where she lived and further stated that ammo was like a currency there. She is one conservative republican in a large community of democrats and feels that if civil unrest were to develop, she would certainly be targeted by scores of people around her that have been living on entitlements. God help us.
Send this on. Psalms 144:1

PayPal is a pack of intolerant, left-wing butt holes. In 2011, they persecuted & harassed those they deemed to be anti-gay (read more here: http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/paypal-launches-investigation-of-pro-family-groups-following-homosexual-com/ )
I'd encourage all Christians and freedom-loving conservatives to stop doing business with these bullies. Perhaps there are other companies we can utilize, such as authorize.net?
I’ll be getting this letter soon enough then.
Sorry that the format is so difficult to read.
I stopped using PayPal years ago, when an online scamster portrayed itself as being PayPal and tried unsuccessfully to get me to reveal personal data. I called PayPal to report it, and they acted really nonchalant about it, like they didn’t even care.
I’m running out of companies to boycott.
I’ve used PayPal via Gunbroker before with no problems, as recently as last month.
The problem is when you get stuff like this in email, you don’t know what is true or not.
They probably acted nonchalant because millions upon millions of those scam emails go out every day. I usually get several per day.
Very good point. At first, I wondered if it was a scam, but then as I read the email this man forwarded to me, they seemed to have alot of info about the transaction. Weird. We do know they have a history of harassing conservative causes (anti-gay marriage & pro-life bloggers come to mind).
We’ll see what happens with this. This person sells alot of things on ebay so this is going to hurt him.
On the other hand, it does look like PayPal has updated its policy and at least the basics of the email is accurate.

I guess some transactions are falling through the cracks.
Maybe we need to invent a new language of euphemisms for guns, gun parts, and ammo. Kind of like the Monty Python “dog kennels” for “mattresses” skit.

That’s old. That happens when you exceed a certain amount of transactions (I think it is something like $5K lifetime). It protects them because by using credit cards, they are basically also transferring payments on credit and it increases the risk.
Guns are Ex-Parrots
Ammunition is Killer Rabbits
Magazines are the Holy Hand grenade of Antioch. Well, that last one may not go through.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure this email from PayPal was legit. It contained live links to their website, info about the transaction in question, and this man received a phone call from them.
Jerks. Since when did ammo become taboo & something to be classified with drugs & porn?? Oh wait.....I know the answer to that. Nevermind.
Me too. We are living in a Country gone mad.
“Im running out of companies to boycott.”
Me, too.
You need to read the email closely. There are several scams regarding paypal.
For the most part I like Paypal and don’t much care that they don’t want to deal in transactions with firearms. I don’t want them involved in my firearms transactions anyway. I prefer cash for those sorts of things.
I used to keep a list of retail stores that were “off limits” by FReeper standards.
But I gave up, because the list was pretty much all-encompassing.
Of course Apple and Microsoft based computers are off limits too, so you better be using Linux.
LOL!! Good start.
“Perhaps there are other companies we can utilize, such as authorize.net? “
Just use a credit card or use a bank transfer.
Pay Pal is a stupid way to pay for something.
