Amazing how Frampton was the huge thing for a year or so after FCA came out in 76, and then....nothing...darn shame because the guy is still an incredible player. I’d love to catch a show of his if he ever comes back around.

Something about the particular time and place when FCA came out, I think, led to its hugeness. It was a feeding frenzy a tad like that first Boston album everyone seemed to have; although I think Boston pretty much shot their whole bolt right there, whereas Frampton had some successful follow-ups. I'm In You was actually a pretty commercially successful album IIRC.

I've seen him at odd whiles over the years on PPV and music channels, and he still seems to put a lot into a live performance. I would definitely go to see him in a smaller venue (500-1000 people theatre-type) gig if he was within about 150 miles.

Frampton at Verizon Grand Prairie, June 5... just saw a concert I had taped today....he’s better than ever. He was in a horrible accident after FCA...took him a while to recover. I Need Ground is a good song I enjoyed hearing today. Oh, and you’ll be excited to hear REO and Styx will be in town soon!
