Greetings fellow patriots! Houston we have a problem! A big one. I'm located in South Louisina 337. On February 28 a white SUV pulled up to the house with red DHS lettering with Texas plates. (Texas WTH i thought y'all were with us) I saw them pull in the drive an met them outside at their truck 2 agents late 40s-50s. They say Hi we are here doing a survey. One agent pulls out 3 volumes (looked like phone books almost sizewise) He ruffles through the pages in first then second volume. He finds my list (The 1 that they don't have). he says so we are doing a survey and we are going around visiting everyone and trying to verify if you own or still have these firearms. He proceeds to show me my list. Every gun i bought from a dealer is on this list. Every one from 22s to Mosin Nagants and everything in between. I was blown away and still am. Many bricks have been shat since then! I told them nah i don't have any of those dangerous baby killers gave them all away after Newtown. They left but sat parked down the road for a couple hours. Probably coordinating drone strike. I have ony told a couple of close friends i trust. I've been tryng to keep it together. The first person i told also had a visit exactly 2 weeks before me. He ordered a questionable part off the net an that's what the agents told him they were after. He lives 5 minutes down the road. I was freaked then but I didn't think anything of it you know he brought it on himself. Until i got a visit. All my stuff is legal and above board. No worries on that part. But then why did i recieve a visit? I don't know i've been gripped with fear since. Keeping watch on my porch, almost sleeping outside some nights. And then yesterday my wife's friends parents who are an hour north of us got a visit. Only the mom was home and she told them to hit the street. These people are farmers and have guns but mostly Fudd guns and relics passed down. The father was going somewhere on business this weekend and next week. He cancelled. Even the Fudds aren't safe from this. My only solace in all of this is the 3 massive volumes the jackboots had. I know i'm not the only one. I don't know what to do?! It took this long for me to tell somebody else. My wife and i are scared [crap]less!I'm not sure if they are testing the waters seeing who will comply. Or if it's something else entirely. Why down here? Why not in Commiefornia or one of these other liberal dreamlands? I thougt we were good we just voted to strengthen the 2nd in our state. i just keep saying in my head. WTF?

So, I'm in this status meeting for the project I manage and people are droning on and on and on about stuff and I'm trying to figure out why none of it's holding any of my attention when suddenly it hits me.

I don't care a democrat's heinie about any of this!!!

I retrospect, I don't think I should have said that out loud.

The wording was particularly poor since I am a consultant for NYC.

If I don't have a job tomorrow, I'll be sure to let you know.

Ooops. Maybe nobody else in the meeting really cares either, but you all need to keep your jobs.

Throw it back and tell them I want something can work from ... What is being presented is not workable. If it is your job to find something workable ... say excuse me, this needs more thought. Hope this works, and btw this a suggestion only.

Well, the D.C. called me in and said he didn't care about any of it either, but since we have to keep our identities under wraps or scare the humans, he needed me to stay calm and help keep things in line.

On the project level there's apparently some political pressure to finish and, since I seem to be one of the few who actually gets things done I'm not in real jeopardy, but I should work to make my meetings a little less ... exciting.

LOL!

The new manager here said, upon his hiring, “Hit me with your worst! I can handle it!” He has been working his backside off, sorting, organizing, and shredding and I can SEE a difference in the office.

I don’t know if the maintenance personnel will reflect the change, as they are mostly the charges of “The Head Office.”

What has been the hampering factor is the change from separate entities loosely based under HUD, to a combined force under one umbrella of rules and by-laws. A difficult concept for these small housing authorities.

Still, I can appreciate what he is doing and I can also appreciate how you felt and feel.

Never lose your sense of humor! Bring it to your meetings, and tweak the proceedings with something unexpected! ;o]

That should have been my motto. Unfortunately, I think I time-slipped back into my black gender Mandarin studies class when I was in college.

Of course, I never took that class, which made it REALLY weird that I had time-slipped back into that class. In fact, I think there are so few black transgenders who speak Mandarin that colleges don't even offer studies on them.

Which is too bad, because they're really interesting.

They quit inviting me to meetings when I improved the process enough to start reporting yields over 100% of standard.

Standard yield for wafer fab was defined as 80% of the wafers started made it to the end of the line.

Standard yield for electrical test was defined as 80% of the die on those wafers met electrical test requirements.

Standard yield for pressure test was defined as 80% of the electrically good die met sensitivity requirements.

0.8 x 0.8 x 0.8 ≈ 50% actual yield. They were happy with 80% of that when I started.

They were NOT happy with me explaining that to upper management...

Traditional management techniques always lead to information hiding, which is exactly what managers don’t want.

Why do they keep putting up with it?

Umm... Isn't Global Foundries looking for increased yields (or was that when they were still AMD)...??? ;-)

But then you'd need to move to either Silicon Valley in the land of Fruits and Nuts, or Dresden... You like German Bier, ja?
