NiMH sounds like the Chinese Ni Hau Ma, but not enough for me to interpret as such. What is the meaning of NiMH? (Unless, of course, it is a secret. I’ve been very patient with secrets for lo this many years.)

No relation to Frankie and Benjy, I assure you.

Some Disney escapees went to MGM and created a nice animated film entitled “The Secret of NIMH” that is more chronoeconomical than the book, and possibly more entertaining, as well. The animation was done in the more rich, and painstaking “old school” fashion that includes fully detailed backgrounds, and far greater bodily expression on the part of the characters so that they not only move their mouths when speaking, but exhibit correlating “body language.”

I’m not familiar with “’ello ‘ello,” but I love “Keeping Up Appearances,” and “Are You being Served?” Old, I know, but ALWAYS funny!

I wish I could afford to buy both, with all the seasons. These days, I go to bed so early that I have no clue what is on PBS. Maybe I should check with Netflix...

‘ello ‘ello is a war time farce set in a French cafe.
The Germans are all ‘on the make.’
The Gestapo are looking for the painting that they think the Army has ,the Army don't have it because it is hidden in the cafe cellar, by the local German commander and the cafe owner!
The French are operating the resistance out of the back room.
There are two Airmen in the closet, who the Germans persistently miss.
The Policeman is a British agent who speaks bad French.
It is all in English ,but you wouldn't know it.
It might be on u-tube, worth a look.
Do be ready to be shocked, some of it is a bit near the bone!

LOL!

Nothing has the capacity to “shock” me....
I will search for the program (programme) because it sounds so hilarious! I spent two years in Germany, so I think I can relate...and I love the British!

Thanks, Moose! I will look for it!

‘ello ‘ello?

By chance do you mean the sitcom “Allo, Allo!” that ran on BBC about twenty or thirty years ago?

If so, I may have run across it, but not too likely as those were the days prior to the huge expansion of the cable TV market here in the U.S.

Back then, in the late 20th Century, we got some BBC programming, but we didn’t have easy access to “The Beeb” itself (it’s selves?). If one were in a major TV market (big metro area), one might be fortunate to see “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” regularly on one of what were then known as UHF channels. Back in the late 1970’s, Los Angeles area viewers got a regular eyeful of the antics of Benny Hill on channel 52, IIRC. But, again, that programming wasn’t being piped in directly from the BBC; the tapes were being bought, and re-broadcast on the local station’s own schedule.

Only with the 21st Century advent of cable TV packages offering hundreds of different channels have Americans now come to have flick-of-the-button to BBC content. Imagine, all those years nearly ignorant of Rowan Atkinson in any of his incarnations! And “Father Ted”? Forget it. We had no clue at all.

The generator and propane tank have been installed, and the generator technicians are checking out the system. They should be done in another half hour or so.

We are officially prepped.
