These criminals certainly stand out in a crowd - they all have rather distinctive tattoos on their faces. The mugshots show them with bizarre designs or phrases plastered on their foreheads.

LOL! He was the only one with the lightning bolt on his forehead, I think!
Oh, that woman was terrible! She would walk by my desk every day and check to see if I was getting beaten about the head and face, and looking for bruises. At least she didn’t confront me anymore, or try to get me to a battered women’s shelter. Sheesh!
What a turkey! I told Bryan when we were dating that if he ever laid a hand on me, he would never see me again. It turned out I didn’t have to level that threat, and he has always been gentle and kind to me all our lives.
“Here’s your sign.”
Never seen it on any other ethnic or sexual group. I've heard it means: killed someone, had someone killed, lost someone in a murder, child molestor (chomo), or just someone who's doing time. But what do they ALL have in common?
Medicaid. State-paid insurance. Or no money at all.
I've never met a person with a teardrop tattoo that had private insurance. Meaning having a tax-paying job IOW.
...I knew that.
;^)
Oh good grief. It has so many different meanings, civilians wouldn't know what to think. But I do know that a lot of people tend to think the worst.
Genius has “omerta” on his throat.
Sicilian Mafia term for code of silence.
On a more meta level, it means “avoid.” And I do.
I caught that. I guess he thought it was shorter than “Snitches Get Stitches.”
This could be the year...yikes!
BTW, it would go on the back of my right calf. lol
When we had our business in California, we took a chance and hired an ex-con. He stole us blind, goofed off, used the company van for personal business and transportation, company cell phone for personal conversations, was rude, disrespectful, and aloof, and just generally turned us off hiring ex-cons.
But he didn’t have facial tattoos.
We fired him and ratted him out to his parole officer, and he was supposed to pay us back, but we never heard from him again. We opted not to press charges but realize now that it was a mistake. We should have had him arrested.
I always thought that the teardrop tattoo meant the person was a big fan of the song “Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head”.
Nothin' says they got caught for it.
Yet another reason for the tattooed water drop! Now I'm hopelessly confused!
Thanks, Laz! Any excuse to keep from housecleaning. You're my angel, as usual.
Damn, no good deed goes unpunished. Donuts to dollars he’s back in prison now.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised. He was very arrogant, and he felt entitled to take what he wanted in addition to his salary.
There’s a whole couple or three generations of them out there. More’s the pity.
“I always heard that a teardrop means you have killed someone.

It seems that is the usual meaning but there are a whole bunch of other ones depending on cultures and countries, ranging from having a bad childhood to having been raped in prison (I assume that one is not worn voluntarily!) to losing a loved one to the Australian meaning of child rapist.

Let me tell you, as a doctor I’ve seen many a jailhouse tattoo. Not sure what it exactly means. If the teardrop is for murder, then these guys are pretty young to have been released. Usually seen on Hispanic males.

Hi, expat and boop: Thanks for the information; I probably watch too much television. :) Someone should do some sort of doctoral study on this—although I’m not volunteering to get into the gang culture to investigate this. LOL. :)
Not career criminals.
>>Someone should do some sort of doctoral study on this
It would probably find that 26.5% of those wearing it have no idea of the meaning!
