I’m not.
I recommend canceling your cable. You’ll save money and have a lot more time for constructive things.
On this topic, I can read the book.
I will as long as Duck Dynasty isn’t playing at the same time.
I don’t have a TV but I’m sure I could find it somewhere. It’s probably going to be a lot different than the book. Sort of like The Hobbit with blasphemy.
I will record it and watch with a cautious optomism. I know a person who knows 1 of the producers and hopes it will turn out well because of that. As long as no one tries to build their theology on it, it could be OK.
There was a nice write-up about Mark Burnett and his wife Roma Downey in Parade last weekend.
And I caught the tail end of a Focus on The Family radio interview with them today.
I think it will be a quality series.
Not sure . . . wonder just how awful they’ll portray biblical characters.
I read a favorable review of it at creation.com. The reviewers seemed to think it was well done with some minor reservations. One can always hope!
100% Yes!! Producer found Christ a few years ago. His wife is a committed Believer. Both are big players in Hollywood. This 5 week, 10 hour series will be split 50/50 between Old & New Testament events, with the final episode being Christ’s resurrection broadcast on Easter Sunday.
Mark & Emma are strong proponents of having the world’s most significant, influential and widely read book, the Bible, added back into school curriculum - to be taught, not preached.
Conservatives have long sought less slime and more decency from Hollywood. Why on earth wouldn’t all conservatives support and celebrate this series?
Already got the DVR set. I’ll know in the first 5 mins whether I need to delete it or not.
Watch it with a note book to mark down everything they get wrong.
I read the book. I won’t tell you how it ends but it was a good read.
Anything that Rick Warren has his fat little finger tips on is not something I am going to support.
I heard the couple who produced it are bible believing Christians. It might turn out pretty good.
I have Dish Network. Anyone have the channel, date, and time (CST)?
One of the producers is Roma Downey, of “Touched by an Angel” fame.
Mark
Nope. I am forced by long experience to assume that the entire production is designed to induce doubt into the minds of believers and reenforce the smug convictions of non-believers. If I’m wrong, too bad. They can keep it.
I am looking forward to it.
Yeah. I'm watching it. They take the Bible seriously. I'm sure it'll be a great series. I wouldn't miss it.
I’ll give it a look. But I won’t last too long if the emphasis is on the OT.
History’s bible coverage is always done by fanatically anti-Christian freaks. What should be a great cable network (educational, interesting, evergreen) is instead just about the worst (deceitfully propagandistic, miseducational, laughable, tired).
