I am undecided about it.
I have Dish Network. Anyone have the channel, date, and time (CST)?
Glenn Beck got a pre-screen of the first episode and said it was great and well worth watching. I’m DVRing it for us and the kids.
One of the producers is Roma Downey, of “Touched by an Angel” fame.

Nope. I am forced by long experience to assume that the entire production is designed to induce doubt into the minds of believers and reenforce the smug convictions of non-believers. If I’m wrong, too bad. They can keep it.
I am looking forward to it.
Yeah. I'm watching it. They take the Bible seriously. I'm sure it'll be a great series. I wouldn't miss it.
I’ll give it a look. But I won’t last too long if the emphasis is on the OT.
Very well put!
I am having a tendency to agree with you, I would almost bet that the producers are going to base it off of a Westcott and Hort Perversion of the Holy Bible(NIV, etc) and mislead MANY.
The couple were on Raymond Arroyo’s “World Over Live” on EWTN this morning, so I do believe it should be very good. She mentioned that several of the actors were converted to the faith due to the show.
History’s bible coverage is always done by fanatically anti-Christian freaks. What should be a great cable network (educational, interesting, evergreen) is instead just about the worst (deceitfully propagandistic, miseducational, laughable, tired).
Glenn Beck is a MORMAN and DOES NOT provide accurate Religous ANYTHING!
Producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey consulted with a battery of theologians while preparing The History Channel miniseries The Bible. The spiritually strong couple wanted to get every detail right for an adaptation of the most popular book of all time.
The couple also heeded the wisdom of their own teenagers who gently cautioned them not to make the special effects lame.
Burnett and Downey understand the potential impact of The Bible, the 10-part series which begins at 8 p.m. EST Sunday. They also grasp how impressionable viewers, particularly teens, could take the project to heart.
Theres no way anybody could watch this and not get attracted to faith and feeling, says Burnett, the reality show innovator behind Survivor and The Amazing Race.
absolutely!!!!
Yes; our church is using it as an outreach...using clips from the mini-series to teach.
Apparently the producers of the project ARE BELIEVERS and so it can be trusted to be somewhat trustworthy.
Note: the History Channel’s “The Story of US”, a supposed overview of American history was a TOTAL piece of crap, Howard Zinn left-tard idiocy.
So I know why people are wary.
This is one time, I think, they are getting it right.
Of course, we’ll have to wait until it actually airs. :)
I understand its 5 hours on OT and 5 hours on the NT. Please do give it a look. The only thing on Sunday night worth watching is the Good Wife. So tape one and watch the other. Enjoy and may God Bless.
“Apparently the producers of the project ARE BELIEVERS and so it can be trusted to be somewhat trustworthy.” Rick Warren calls himself a “beleiver” and I would NOT trust his as far as I could throw him. In the last days...!
Got a link to the BBC documentary?
Thanks!
