As with most women drivers, it is probably the "car's fault." Over stressing the engine, doing one's makeup, and talking on the phone about Lifetime movies (or whatever the hell takes up their 3hr conversations) are all considered "the car's fault."......to include ignoring the check engine light, which really only means the car's engine is "on."

To further add to my smart#ss remarks

she failed to finish ... once again

This is usually blamed on a man.....and not the fact they're thinking about undone dishes or laundry.

I bet Danica can afford to hire someone to do her dishes and laundry.

I bet it's a woman ;)

And I bet Danica nitpicks in her mind that "she doesn't do it right." (and then re-folds all the laundry)... double ;)

How could emergency crews be there that fast? That was within moments of the accident. Most of the people around the guy didn’t even know a tire had come into their midst. I am sure as soon as emergency workers go into the area they treated the guy.

Restrictor plates are what has caused this bunched up racing and “the big one”

They had a interview with Fred Lorenzen on NPR(NASCAR on NPR?!?!?!?) this morning. He isn’t doing very well, but, was upbeat.

Saw him race at Darlington in 1971 or 2 in the Rebel 400. They invited some older drivers to participate including Lorenzen, Lee Petty and several other older drivers.

Of course David Pearson won the race. He was the King of the Spring Darlington Race...still is too.

Was there in 1970 to see King Richard flip over on the front straight. That’s why they have window netting now.

Later that year, my Dad took us to North Carolina and we stopped by at the Petty House (we were dumb then). Lee Petty hit our car with a golf ball.

If you have a decent smartphone and 4G connection, the “watch ESPN” app works great. I was using it today during the Nationwide race.

I'd love to see an angle that shows the face of the guy that waves the flag when the accident happened. Talk about having a ringside seat!

I really enjoyed Nascar back then. The cars were much closer to stock, being the real bodies with mods only made for safety cages etc.

I also think the engines were stock except blueprinted.

Modern stock cars are basically nothing but custom built racers which resemble they model on the outside.

The cars looked different too. I could immediatly see a Ford or a Plymouth Fury or a Pontiac. Now except for the names I probably could not tell them apart.

Men built the car, so it’s THEIR fault!

The only thing "smart" about my phone is that my wife is the only one I have ever given it's number to.

I was just lamenting that NASCAR much like the RNC is so focused on new markets that they are leaving behind loyal fans/voters.

HER fault or the car's?

Hard to say. I think a driver can blow a perfectly good engine if they don't get out of the draft occasionally to let it get some air....

Nascar Cup races began showing on ESPN in 1981 so your frame of reference goes back a LONG ways....
