Pinging the List.
The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks. No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread ... there is no telling where it will go and that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
I just finished assembling a mini greenhouse/starter shelf together.
I gotta remember step A.1 “Check to make sure head is extracted from butt to avoid obstructing vision during assembly.”
Hi all
Greetings from middle Tennessee. Weather has been temperamental lately. Into the upper 50’s today, up from 30’s just the other day. Up, down, up, down. Started some broccoli, cauliflower and kale indoors last weekend. Hope for the best. Daffodils around town are beginning to bloom. Soon it will be time to prune the roses; 8 knockouts and 12 climbing roses, two tea roses .... Scratched up arms here we come.
So glad FR is up again. Was having serious withdrawals. Had extra time to peruse Facebook. Was reminded of why I enjoy FR so much. Bunch of narcissistic airheads there. Yawn. Happy gardening all!
The new job is going well enough that I’m giving myself permission to order a couple of trees this year. St. Lawrence Nurseries even has an apple that supposedly has a grapey flavor. I love the grapples that I find in the store, but I found out they were just regular apples with artificial flavor added, so they kind of lost their appeal.
Also ordering some runner beans. With those, I think I’ll have as many bean varieties as I can get without them crossing with each other. Except soy, because soy upsets my stomach.
