Folks, I direct your attention to one thing.

As George Varnum pointed out, this needed vetting before it went viral. But few looked at the targets themselves.

The word “depicting” is wrong, and the phrase “highlighting and highlighting” is incorrect as well. And those two errors are cut-and-paste on every target.

Also add to that, all the targets are of Caucasian actors.

First, would a professional company, who had just scored a lucrative government contract, allow such glaring adolescent errors on not only their merchandise, but also their advertising?

Second, would said company knowingly commit such a politically correct mistake?

My first call was and is, this is a hoax. Just the kind of thing Leftists would create to launch, then sit back and watch the howls of non-fact-checking outrage just as we’ve seen.

I lurked over at the DUmp, to see if anyone pops up on the radar claiming to have created the targets. Nothing yet, but we still watch.

Uh, the company admitted to the line of targets during a phone call interview which is posted on Youtube, on their Facebook page and on their website after they pulled the NMH target page. Their apology is also posted on their website and Facebook page.

Please consider vetting these citations before questioning others.

Or do you believe you are the only person on the internet who researches before drawing conclusions and posting an opinion?

Law Enforcement Targets
We apologize for the offensive nature of our “No More Hesitation” products. These products have been taken offline due to the opinions expressed by so many, including members of the law enforcement community.

This product line was originally requested and designed by the law enforcement community to train police officers for unusually complex situations where split-second decisions could lead to unnecessary loss of life.

Consistent with our company mission as a training supplier (not a training methods company), we will continue to seek input from law enforcement professionals to better serve their training objectives and qualification needs. We sincerely appreciate law enforcement professionals for the risks they take in providing safety and defending freedom.

Ping to posts 104 and 105. They are real, and I saw them myself on their site yesterday before they took them down.

Old Sarge, you are indeed an old guy like me, in that you still expect the art of proofreading to be applied today. My wife and I roll our eyes several times a day at glaring mispellings and typos both on the internet and in printed material. We see them in veterans’ group newsletters, magazines, and company websites. Kids today just don’t learn how to spell, or care, and nobody checks. It’s amazing. We even have seen them on brochures and websites from “brand name” universities trying to recruit our high school senior daughter! So no, they don’t surprise me one bit. Nobody cares. Nobody checks. Nobody gives a damn...but us old relics of a bygone day.

If it was a hoax, then why do they have an apology for said ‘hoax’ on the front page of their web site?

This is what you people aren’t quite getting. If this were a hoax, then why are they apologizing for it? If it were a hoax, then someone has gone to pretty great lengths to create a company, a product and a marketing campaign in the furtherance of said hoax. This would be one of the better hoaxes since the Piltdown Man.

The people here on FR who keep thinking it is some hoax are fooling themselves. To quote you:

“... would a professional company, who had just scored a lucrative government contract, allow such glaring adolescent errors...?”

The answer is “yes.” After all, this is the same company that peddles “reactive” target augmentation to make your targets “bleed” and has zombie targets. You want adolescent, there you go. Who, in their right mind in the gun business, peddles some product to make paper targets “bleed?” Where’s the upside in training for the negative PR that brings?

Here’s their PR clip:

“EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTOR of the Pink Mist Tech “Blood Pack”. Pink Mist is a revolutionary new product that instantly turns ANY paper target into a reactive BLEEDING target. Easily identify a good hit with realistic splattering of blood. Perfect for Law Enforcement, Military, as well as enthusiasts who are partial to Zombie and Animal targets. Also works great under a light colored T-Shirt for even more realism”

WTF? Really? I’ve been on dozens and dozens of ranges in my life, and my first reaction is “Who is going to clean that crap up?” My second reaction is “What a freakin’ PR disaster that is!”

And the zombie target crap? Yea, that’s always impressed me. If I could deliver a huge collective pimp-slap to the people that thought that crap up, I’d do it all day long for exercise.
