I wondered why there isn't a backup server and contingency plan when this occurs. The other real question every FReeper needs to ask is what would happen if something happened to owners of this site. This is a valuable commodity that has some proprietary, maybe even trademarked name/identity/software. But it's just a web site with large data base, file servers and links.

Like it's been said here many times, if you don't like this place leave and start your own. Has anybody every done that?

Personally, I like the Free Republic. It's easy to navigate, has intuitive posting and searches but most of all it has FReepers.

Does anybody know how many FReepers there are? Do we generate as many hits as Drudge or Brietbart?

Because that number and the number of hits this site generates could mean that the FRee Republic site could afford back up servers and possibly even back up sites for hardware malfunctions, software disasters or sabotage.

Just a thought.
