that is common thought on suicide... i used to hold that same thought... but those who commit or attempt suicide are in such a different state of mind... a really dark place... i no longer believe it's selfishness... it may seem that way, especially for those left behind...
Such a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Very sad.

She released her first album in a long time just a couple of years ago. The consensus among the critics was that the material was weak but her voice was very good, better than when she was really popular. It briefly charted, and I think people were hoping she had her life cleaned up and might make a comeback.
Sounds a bit selfish to me...
why kill the dog too?!
According to the report, neighbors heard gunshots at her house and called the police.
She shot herself and the dog, the source said.
Crawl down off your high horse. I think she released one CD, so star is a bit of a reach. She had a real nice voice.
She also married a man that beat the crap out of her. As far as I know, she wasn’t some pompous (witch) that demanded to be taken care of, though it may have been better for her if she had been. Her husband was arrested for beating her, so it isn’t just speculation on my part.
She seemed to have a lot of unfortunate self-destructive personality traits. I hate that those two kids are going to grow up without both of their parents. I feel the same way about the kids down the road, their father is in jail for killing their mother.
Agreed.
I have to say it’s rare these days that I come across any headline that evokes a gasp within, but this one did. So, so, sad— all around.
right. not something very sympathetic
You are correct IMO in your assessment of suicide. Thanks. Not a day goes by that I am saddened by how dark and distraught those are that commit suicide. I personally have had my life literally turned upside down by a loved ones’ actions.
All the rush, rush to be the first to report! And no care taken to be accurate.
McCready’s two children were removed from her home by a judge on February 6. The woman had been committed by her father 10 days ago, released a few days later for outpatient treatment. Attempted to commit suicide twice in the past 2005 & 2008. Trouble with the law for her and her boyfriend, career on the skids for the past decade.
“I think she released one CD”
Overall, McCready’s four studio albums have accounted for twelve singles on the Billboard country singles charts. This figure includes the Number One hit “Guys Do It All the Time”, as well as the Top Ten hits “Ten Thousand Angels” and “A Girl’s Gotta Do (What a Girl’s Gotta Do)”. Although she had not charted a single since 2002, McCready received significant media coverage regarding her personal life. McCready’s critically acclaimed fifth studio album, I’m Still Here, was released in March 2010 on Iconic Records and is available on Amazon & iTunes.
McCready had sold over 3 million albums according to the RIAA.
She reportedly shot her dog before turning the gun on herself.
Well, that's certainly true -- no one's posts will bring her back to life. I was simply pointing out that at least some efforts had been made toward treatment.
She was also being investigated for the death of her boyfriend who she claims committed suicide. The investigation is still ongoing.
I appreciate that she knew she had a problem
That wasn’t meant to sound so sarcastic
Condolences to the remainder of her family and her friends.
It’s a sad story anytime someone commits suicide. I never heard of her.
She never admitted she had a problem, her father had her put in treatment ten days ago but she was released for outpatient treatment a few days ago.
I still don’t know why she would shoot the dog. A good thing her children were in foster care, she could have taken them out too!
