My God, look at that melted rock in there. This is a once in a lifetime type of event (I HOPE!).

Yep, sure could have been sonic booms and/or heat and pressure related fracturing of the original meteor.

I agree with that post upthread that this should be moved from chat to news.

If that thing hit anywhere near a cemetary, and no other news comes out of that region...

We all know what’s coming next.

Would government’s conspire to lie to us about DA14’s actual trajectory? What else would they do, if faced with such an event? And, if the Russian really did shoot at this, as some media claim, wouldn’t they have needed at least some warning? I doubt their missle defenses would be staged close enough to such an interior portion of the country. I will put my tinfoil hat away now. For now.

They mean Siberia - but the EQ is a long way from where the meteorite allegedly hit.

Saw this on another forum. It’s an old natural gas well.

This was tiny compared to the asteroid. Probably just rocks you could hold in your hands.

I don’t believe the part about surface to air missiles. Where were the ascending trails?

To be outside and see that is absolutely scary. You wouldn’t know if one was about to land where you were. You would turn into a smudge on the ground if there was anything left to see.

Leading edge? The actual rock isn’t supposed to hit till tomorrow, as I understand it. Don’t think I’m a nut, I just don’t trust the media (who hasn’t even mentioned this yet)

No way that’s from a meteorite...there’s no “slid marks” and the meteor wasn’t coming straight down (leaving just a hole). There would have been a trajectory ‘trail’ on the ground.
